Overview

This is a new route –  running north - south from Epping Forest to Peckham through four boroughs: Southwark, Islington, Hackney and Waltham Forest – and the City of London.

It links almost 40 acres of green space and a number of  waterways  and also connects with other routes eg The Capital Ring.

The route was planned by the Ramblers in partnership with Living Streets, Sustrans and CPRE and delivered by TfL.

Section 1 starts at St Peter-in-the Forest Church on the fringes of Epping Forest, passing through attractive Walthamstow Village, Walthamstow Wetlands, Hackney Downs, Clapton Pond and Clapton Square ending at Hackney Town Hall.

Lunch or picnic at The Engine House Cafe, Walthamstow Wetlands.

Section 2 from Hackney to Peckham is on Friday 17th January.
